TEEMS

Developing a better understanding of how children grow up strong and resilient
Problem
  • 10% of "healthy" children and 60% of those from low socio-economic backgrounds or with chronic illness face social and behavioral challenges.
  • Early intervention is key, as many of these issues are treatable, improving long-term outcomes.
  • Accurate assessment of social skills is challenging, with no comprehensive tools available to replicate real-life social interactions or assess social cognition effectively.
Solution
  • TEEMS is an innovative, gamified iPad app that assesses social cognitive skills, providing a comprehensive "social IQ" to identify strengths and weaknesses.
  • It gives clinicians insights into the underlying factors driving a child's social abilities, guiding early intervention and treatment.
  • TEEMS Q is a brief questionnaire designed to quickly screen social function and determine if further professional assessment is needed.
Outcome
  • TEEMS has been utilized in over 15 research studies, demonstrating its effectiveness.
  • It is now being introduced into clinical practice across Australia.
